Year 9 student achievement

We are thrilled to announce that our Year 9 student, Emily, has been honoured with a prestigious award at the recent Saints Ground Awards Ceremony. In 2023, Emily's family made the heartfelt decision to become a foster family, driven by a desire to make positive differences in children's lives and help pave the way for brighter futures. This commitment has now been recognised in a truly special way.

Emily and her family attended an awards ceremony at the Saints stadium, unaware that they had been nominated for two significant awards. The event, attended by over 200 people, was a grand affair, and the family was overwhelmed with joy and pride when they discovered their nominations.

To their astonishment, they not only received nominations but also won both awards! It was an unbelievable and humbling experience for everyone involved.

The first award they received was the "Recognition Award," honouring the family's commitment to fostering. This acknowledgement of their journey felt truly amazing and validated their efforts and dedication.

However, the highlight of the evening was the second award – the "Son and Daughter Award." Hearing the bespoke words written for Emily and her brother Matthew took everyone's breath away. Emily's family is incredibly proud of how she and Matthew have both opened their hearts and home, willingly sharing their lives to improve the lives of others. They are beautiful human beings, epitomising kindness and compassion.

Emily, in particular, is modest and humble about her role in the fostering journey. She is an inspiring sister and role model, and her achievements, along with those of her brother Matthew, deserve to be celebrated and recognised.

This recognition is a testament to the love and dedication Emily and her family have poured into fostering, and we are deeply honoured to celebrate her remarkable achievement.
