Religious Education
Introduction
KS3 Religious Education at the Sutton Academy introduces students to a variety of different religious and world views including Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Sikhi and Humanism. In addition, as students come towards the end of year 8 and into year 9 these religious views are considered when studying various ‘Big Questions’ such as ‘Does God exist?’, ‘Is there life after death?’ and ‘How do we know what is right and wrong?’. Students are encouraged to think for themselves about a variety of subjects and are encouraged to have respect for people from all religious backgrounds or belief and people from no religious background or belief.
