Attendance Interventions

For some families we recognise that additional support might be required to ensure good attendance. The Academy will work in collaboration with parents / carers to ensure that the best course of action is followed to allow this to happen. In many circumstances 90% is seen as a very high figure, but in the context of school attendance it actually equates to 19.5 days missed in a school year – which is a significant amount of lost learning time.

The following people will support you in ensuring your child attends on a regular basis. Often more than one of these people may work with you at any given point:

• Student development team inc SEND and inclusion team
• Attendance Officer
• Academy Leadership team
• Educational Welfare Service
• Youth engagement officer
