Geography is a fascinating subject which helps you understand what is going on around the world in which you live. It will also give you an insight into the changes that are likely to happen in the future. The world is changing at an ever faster rate and will undergo bigger changes in your lifetime than have ever happened in the past. These changes will directly affect you - everything from natural hazards and climate change to changes in work and employment, the growth in world population and possible shortages in fresh water, energy and food.
Students will use a wide range of research skills including ICT and fieldwork opportunities to understand the wider world as well as analyse, apply and evaluate primary and secondary data sources to solve problems and develop their understanding of possible solutions. Students will encounter a wide range of learning activities, including independent research, working in pairs and groups to produce written reports, group discussions and class presentations.
