Year 10 transform Frankenstein

08.11.2016

Our year 10 GCSE drama students are embarking on a very prestigious project with Box Clever theatre Co. They are going to transform Frankenstein into a modern, up-to-date version.

It is a 2 year project with only 3 other schools within our region taking part. Students enjoyed their first session bringing the text to life with the help of the professional actors.

STAGE 1: Adapting the novel. (2016/2017 academic year)

•In November 2016, Box Clever visit on 2 occasions and lead script development workshops with a Year 10 students.

• In December 2016 & January 2017, approximately 10 students from each of the 3 participating schools gather at the Town Hall in Wigan on 2 occasions for a shared script development over a 2 hour session.

• In March 2017, all students involved will be invited to attend a first rehearsed reading of the adaptation given by professional actors and directed by Iqbal Khan (currently directing Macbeth at the Globe) at the Citadel Arts Centre in St Helens.
